Botanical Name: Rosa x damascena
Roses are widely considered the most beautiful flowers in the world. The flower is an integral part of innumerable stories, legends, myths, and legacies. Approximately 3000-3500 kg rose flowers are needed to obtain 1 kg of the precious golden liquid, which is why it's priced the way it is.

The Rosa Damascena plant was most likely brought to the Bulgarian lands from the Middle East. The best home for it in Bulgaria was found in the valleys around the towns of Kazanlak, Karlovo and Kalofer along the southern slopes of the majestic Balkan range and Sredna Gora mountain. There is something about the air, soil and climate of that area that stimulates the natural synthesis and accumulation in its blossoms of rose oil of outstanding aroma.

Rose essential oil is one of the most sought after, highly potent essential oils, that is used in perfumery, cosmetics, as well as the food and pharmaceutical industry. Here are a few of the potential benefits of Rose Essential Oil:

Shelf Life: 6 Years. Shelf life can be extended with proper storage. Store in a cool, dark place or refrigerate.

 

Note:  This product may congeal or crystallize especially in colder temperatures. This doesn't harm the product at all. It can be gently warmed with body heat by putting it in a pocket for about 20 minutes or put the container in warm water for about 15 minutes. Do not submerge the entire bottle in water.

Cautions: Dilute before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided. This product should not be used by anyone who has broken, irritated or sensitive skin. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or under the care of a medical practitioner unless advised by your doctor. 

For occasional use only up to one time per day. Use in aromatherapy or dilute:

1% = 1 drop per teaspoon of carrier oil (5 ml) or 5-6 drops per ounce.

Because of the limited growing season in Bulgaria, this product is only available for a short time until we run out of stock. Seasonal harvesting occurs in May and June. Production date is May/June of 2017.
